Spain – all narrow gauge railways: rail lines built to a track gauge narrower than the standard 1435mm. Common standards include metre gauge (1000mm), 914mm (3 ft), 762mm (2 ft 6 in) and 600mm. Narrow gauge lines split into two categories on this map: functional regional railways in parts of Africa, Asia and South America where narrow gauge is the national standard; and heritage and tourist railways, typically preserved for leisure travel through scenic or historic routes.
